The Cherry Patch

Home

Happy New Year. The cherry season of 2011 is over. We look forward to seeing you in another 11 months.

About Us

The Cherry Patch is a small cherry orchard owned by the Georg family in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Diana and Dave planted the first trees in 1988. Since those early days we have strived to keep up to date with innovations to improve our orchard. This has included continual assessment of different varieties, and replacing those that haven't been suited to our environment. We have enclosed the orchard in permanent netting to exclude birds, and tried new techniques of training and pruning the trees.

Cherry-Eating Advice

Cherries are best eaten fresh, but still taste great up to about 2 weeks if they are kept properly. Properly stored cherries should be refrigerated at about 0 - 4 degrees Celcius. If you are travelling we recommend you bring an esky to keep the cherries fresh before you can get to a fridge. Unrefrigerated cherries will keep about 2 days at normal room temperatures.
